  1. Hey Ravi!

I remember when this happened to me a few years back. I was sooooo frustrated! Thankfully, I was able to figure out how to fix it AFTER I lost a bunch of hair. LOL Thanks for sharing this. I’m passing it along!

    1. Hi Brenda,

Most of the bloggers have experienced this problem. When I started my blog then I was not even aware of featured image. So I was confused about it. But you know we learn with the passing of the time.

You shouldn’t add your featured image in the post. I mean what’s the need? You can add it in an option given for it.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      Enjoy your weekend.

  2. Hi Ravi, I noticed this JUST on my mobile site. I use WPTouch Pro plugin for my mobile site. I will have to play around with the featured image and see what I can do after reading this. Thank you so much for a solution to this problem.

    1. Hey Lisa,

Good to see you after a long time.:)

For sure you must check the featured images. Most of the time we don’t even check it. People do need to know about fixing such kind of problems. Yeah! its great to use any plugin for your featured images. Though I don’t use any, but still there are many effective plugins in the market.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      Have a great week ahead.

  3. Hi Ravi,

It’s a small issue but when we just start, it’s the potential to give a headache. I encountered this issue in the beginning and sorted it out after some research.

I still have some issues with the blog images though, hope you don’t if I ask.

    1. What’s the right size for the featured or any image for WP?

    2. Should I convert the images to png. or jpeg. file?

    Thanks. ?

    1. Hey Priya,

Such kind of issues are easy to solve but hard to decide the first step. You know there are many WordPress themes with the different content area and featured images. Though it is believed that the perfect size to upload for WordPress is of 800*600 dimensions, but it is dependent upon the content area of your website. If you have the area about 800px wide and you upload an image of 900px wide then it will extend up to the sidebar.

Similarly for the featured images. You must check the size in your theme demo. It would be the best solution to check the size of a featured image.

The conclusion is that you can’t tell the size for all. You need to check for your own theme.

I hope you got the answer. If you still face any problem then I am here.

      Thanks for your wonderful comment.

      Have a lovely day.

  4. Hi Ravi,

    Informative post indeed ?

Yes, most new bloggers face this issue, but over time, most are able to overcome it. Sure reminds me of my time also, but not for long – and now of course, one learns to play around more with images and their sizes to be used on the social media. The featured image on my blog is of a fixed size though, as per the theme, so cannot do much with that.

Thanks for sharing. Happy weekend ?

    1. Hi Harleena,

You are right. For newbies, it’s a kind of common problem. They face it a lot. Even I have encountered it in my previous days. But now it’s all good. I have noticed at few blogs that the featured image is not proper. I mean bloggers use Google images as their featured image. I don’t think it’s good. They should try to create a featured image according to the theme.

Yeah! the theme of your blog matters a lot.

      Thanks for stopping by.

      Have a great week ahead.
